Many remember the early informal Ye Ole Gang gatherings in the early 70’s, organized by Founding Chairman Sal Padilla and designed to celebrate the many friendships formed while participating in Dons Athletics. Those early gatherings looked back at the Dons playing field glory days of the 40’s and 50’s and soon expanded to include more former athletes and more friends. Over the years, the organization has expanded, encompassing all sports and all decades. Today, Ye Ole Gang successfully presents the SBHS Dons Athletics Hall of Fame and supports a variety of current teams and athletes via an annual golf fundraiser and other initiatives.

“Although these events have always been about Dons spirit and camaraderie, the group saw an opportunity to raise funds for Dons athletics,” said David Bolton, Ye Ole Gang president since 2001. “Over the years, hundreds of thousands of dollars have been raised to support a variety of sports, now boys and girls, and athletic facility projects. The generosity of so many has helped to make so much possible for Dons Athletics and athletes.”

As you attend and support Ye Ole Gang events, know that you are helping some of the finest student-athletes in California compete and spread the legendary reputation of our Dons.
